Camping!

Last month we went camping on Roan Mountain in Tennessee. I used to go camping there 2-3 times a year when I was little and I just loved every minute of it! It was great to go back with some sweet friends and Delilah, who was crazy territorial the whole time and just precious. We drove over the border of North Carolina and went to a waterfall and swam in the freezing water, hiked a bit, spent some quality time with my hammock, cooked and ate a lot, and sat around the fire probably more than anything else!

The day after we got back I started moving in to my new house and decorating my room. I’m absolutely in love with my new space and I can’t wait to show you how it turned out. Have you guys had any camping adventures lately?

A bit of England in snapshots – part one

Here are a few snapshots from some of our trip to England. It was great to be able to hang out in London and a few other English towns and cities after working in Scotland to help out Endinburgh city mission. London wasn’t exactly the way I pictured it but there were definitely some really fun moments from London – like getting to see a Damien Hirst exhibit!! (ahhhh!!!!) and spending a few hours exploring the Victoria and Albert museum and the Tate Modern museum. I was completely geeking out over the art the whole time. I just couldn’t believe that I was there with all of those famous pieces, I mean, I had taken tests and written papers on this art. I gave presentations and wrote papers on Damien Hirst during my freshman year of college. Ahhh, I’m still pumped about it!

Anyway, there aren’t any pictures of the art because you aren’t allowed to take pictures in museums but I just needed to share my excitement with you! There are however a few pretty pictures of London and Bath for you to check out. I hope you enjoy!

This last picture just melts my heart. This women was walking around feeding ducks outside of Buckingham palace. She was the absolute sweetest woman and look how precious she is! Goodness, she reminds me of my great aunt Emma and sort of looked like her too. I just love it.

a wee bit of Scotland – in snapshots

Posted on

I thought I would share a few photos from my recent trip to Scotland with you. The city of Edinburgh where we stayed was incredibly beautiful and despite the deary “Scottish” weather that hung about after our first day almost the whole time we were there it was kind of picturesque and I would love to go back!

Can you even stand how precious this place is? We had coffee here one afternoon and went back pretty much every day because no where even compared to the coffee and tea at this place, no where. The UK as a whole has a handle on hot drinks that the US hasn’t quite gotten yet, just more reason to go back I guess!

Lots of art, architecture, food, vintage stores, and many many hot beverages await you in Edinburgh if you are fortunate enough to find yourself there. Lovely.

Welcome Home

Well, it certainly has been awhile, hasn’t it?  I’m working on getting back in the swing of my normal day-to-day life after being on a type of  hiatus from my usual. I went to Bonnaroo for 5 days and then turned around and spent a couple of weeks in the UK, which was lovely. I saw so much art and was incredibly inspired to go back to school with renewed passion and excitement for what I hope to create, during my time away I also gained extra vision for my life and what I should be striving for. It was a good, hard, emotional kind of month.

As I mentioned, I’ll be going back to school to finish up my last year as a student this fall after my year off and I’m making goals and plans (that may or may not actually happen) for myself over the next 2-14 months. I’m currently planning a few parties and striving to be a little more social this year as I’ve seen myself being pretty reserved since last fall. Overall, I’m enthusiastic and hopeful for the things to come and I’ll be making steps to amp up the blog and be super consistent with my posts along with everything else I’m thinking up!

Thanks for reading!

home for now:

Hi! I’m home for a couple of  days before I leave again  for Scotland!  I’m so excited! but it’s hard to believe that I just got home and now I’m about to leave again, even though I was only gone for 5 days the first time around. My trip to Bonnaroo was super fun and I somehow managed to see between 25 and 30 bands while I was there! A few of the bands I saw were on my list and on top of that I got to camp, meet some cool people, eat weird food, and generally be silly so there are no complaints from this girl! I’m sure there will be many more music festivals in my future over the next few years.

I’ll be back here over the next couple of days leading up to my departure and I have a few recipes to share over the next couple days and some pictures and stories from Bonnaroo so the blog will get a little bit of love before I’m off again on another adventure.  Don’t worry, I’ll be back to posting (almost) every day before you know it so just bare with me while I’m gone!

Don’t forget to follow along with what’s going on during my trips on instagram! My username is – trishgibson (if you don’t have instagram you can still check out my feed here >followgram)

I hope you guys are having a marvelous Summer so far, I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to!

Here are a few pictures I took via instagram from life over the past week or so

Lately life has been BUSY and I have been a serious blog slacker and I apologize. Along with that apology I also have to tell you that I’ll be gone for awhile longer. On Wednesday Schae, Lacy, and I will be driving to Manchester to spend 4 fun-filled days at bonnaroo I will be home for 5 days and then I’m off to Scotland and London for two weeks (I know, I can’t believe it! I’m so excited!). Don’t worry though, I’ll be taking pictures every single step of the way and I have a couple posts planned for the next few days, so don’t give up on me! I’ll be back!

Thanks so much to everyone that’s been reading and make sure to check follow me on instagram (user name – trishgibson) for daily updates from the festival and maybe even a few gems from Europe!

see you soon!
